The Paratus Group, LLC (TPG) is helping Orsted North America to meet its mission of improving navigation safety on America’s waters, especially near offshore wind installations. TPG developed and is managing Orsted’s Navigation Enhancement and Training Program which provides the owners of eligible fishing vessels with vouchers for new navigation equipment and crew training. The program was deployed last year and as of this month over $1M worth of vouchers have been issued to vessels and their crews. The success of this program has been accomplished only through the dedicated work of regional equipment and training vendors who are working non-stop to install new radars and AIS aboard vessels and train these men and women that deliver fish to our tables, contribute to the economy, and have worked in dangerous conditions since humans went to sea to catch fish.
A special shout out to our participating vendors: Chris Electronics Corporation of Fairhaven, MA; Confident Captain of Middletown, RI; Narragansett Bay Maritime Training of Newport, RI; Northeast Maritime Institute of Fairhaven, MA; Point Judith Electronic Service Corporation of Point Judith, RI; RI Marine Electrical & Electronics of Tiverton, RI; Seaport Communications of Narragansett, RI, and US Maritime Resource Center of Middletown, RI.
